Leadership, Technology, and Creative Perspective

I am a leader, advocate, and communicator with a passion for technology, organizational development, and creative expression. Throughout my career, I have combined leadership experience with technical curiosity and a commitment to helping organizations and individuals grow through collaboration, innovation, and meaningful communication.

Bringing leadership, technology, and creativity together to support growth and meaningful change

Throughout my professional career and volunteer leadership roles, I have developed experience in organizational communication, governance, strategic planning, and leadership development. I enjoy helping organizations strengthen their effectiveness by building relationships, improving communication, and creating opportunities for collaboration.

Technology has always been one of my greatest interests. I am passionate about using computers, websites, and digital tools to improve accessibility, increase member engagement, and modernize the way organizations communicate. My experience includes website development, system configuration, and implementing technology solutions that help teams connect, share information, and work more efficiently.

Photography provides the creative balance to my professional and volunteer work. Whether capturing a landscape, documenting an event, or creating visual content for organizations, I appreciate the power of storytelling through images. Photography has taught me to pay attention to detail, see different perspectives, and recognize that every image—and every person—has a story worth sharing.

I believe strong organizations thrive when people are informed, empowered, and supported by thoughtful leadership and effective technology. Throughout my career, I have worked to build connections, encourage innovation, and help ideas grow into meaningful action.

This website reflects my journey, my experiences, and my continuing commitment to leadership, technology, creative communication, and lifelong learning. I hope you’ll find ideas, resources, and inspiration to explore new possibilities and make a positive difference in your own work and community.

A Commitment to Leadership, Service, and Growth

Leadership is not simply about holding a position, it’s about serving others, listening carefully, embracing innovation, and helping people succeed. Whether I’m working with organizations, designing websites, mentoring leaders, speaking, or pursuing photography, my goal is always the same: to leave people, projects, and organizations stronger than I found them.

"Like a butterfly, my journey has been one of continual transformation  - each stage building upon the last. Technology became the thread that connected administration, photography, leadership, and service, allowing me to grow, adapt, and contribute in new ways."

The Beginning

I grew up believing that hard work, education, and service were the foundation for a meaningful life. Those values shaped my early years, influenced my educational choices, and continue to guide me today. Looking back, I realize that every stage of my journey—from student, to wife and mother, to business owner and organizational leader, has prepared me for the opportunities and challenges that followed.

2nd Career - Photography

Much of my career was devoted to serving the profession through leadership, education, and administration. While those roles were both meaningful and rewarding, they often left little time to simply create. As I step away from many of those administrative responsibilities, I have the opportunity to return to what first inspired me, seeing the world through the lens of a camera. I find renewed joy in capturing meaningful moments, exploring my creativity, and creating images that tell a story.

Photographic Accomplishments

My photography career has been shaped by a commitment to education, leadership, and service. While awards and degrees are meaningful milestones, they represent something much greater, a lifelong dedication to learning, sharing knowledge, mentoring fellow photographers, and helping strengthen the profession. I believe that success is measured not only by the images we create, but also by the positive impact we have on others.

NARFE Service

For me, NARFE about service. Over the years, I've had the privilege of serving in leadership roles from the chapter level to national committees, helping improve communications, develop technology solutions, train volunteer leaders, and strengthen member engagement. I believe that informed, connected, and empowered volunteers are the foundation of a successful organization, and I remain committed to helping NARFE prepare for the future while honoring its mission.
